Wesker
Another painting from my It's Only Madness exhibition. This one is Arnold Wesker AKA The Ventriloquist! (plus Scarface!).
Dreams Of Dragon's Fire
Here's a Freddy Krueger drawing. I've done a couple more of these horror movie doodles so keep your eyes peeled on this blog over the next couple days for doodles of Leatherface, Herbert West, Michael Myers, and maybe I'll do some more if anybody's interested. Leave any character requests in the comments!
Good. Bad. I'm The Guy With The Gun
Gosh it's amazing how much work I can get done when I can sit at home watching cartoons all week. Here's a new drawing of Ash Williams from The Evil Dead/Army Of Darkness movies. This one was pen and textas on paper then jazzed up with some photo textures and a little bit of digital colouring too. There's an Evil Dead remake in the works which is pretty much the worst idea in the world other than Ninja Turtles from outer space but at least Raimi/Tapert/Campbell are involved so let's just see what happens eh.
My Family
This was my contribution to THIS IS NOT BART 2011, which was the first in what i hope will be an annual Simpsons themed fan art exhibition at ARThive to coincide with that other prominent Newcastle based Arts/Media festival on the same weekend. Last year was heaps of fun, and this year will be even better! We're talking about it already! Any artists keen to submit work for this years show should email subjecthive@gmail.com to register your interest.
He Brought Home The Bacon
This is a Jason Voorhees doodle I smashed together last night while watching American Pickers or some other retarded TV. I coloured this with a snazzy set of colour PITT markers that Eddie Botha and his wife Jennifer got for me and the missus at Christmas time. You should all buy some of Eddie's art, it's incredible.

CRAZY QUILT! yep, another painting from the It's Only Madness exhibition of Batman villains that I had at ARThive last month. If you don't know who Crazy Quilt is, Wikipedia says:
Crazy-Quilt is a noted painter who leads a double-life as a master criminal. He gives the plans for his crimes to various henchmen through clues left in his paintings. His criminal empire crashes to a halt when one of his henchmen double-crosses him. Blinded by a gunshot wound, he volunteers for an experimental procedure that restores his vision, but is unfortunately left unable to see anything but bright colors. In his second published appearance, this is combined with a special helmet that emits bright colored lights, enabling him to see under most circumstances.
The procedure works to a point, but has a tragic side effect: he can see, but the colors are blindingly vivid and disorienting. It drives him mad, and upon his release he takes on the guise of Crazy-Quilt. (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crazy_Quilt)
Vader
Here is a Darth Vader that I drew for this weeks Ozcomics Drawing Challenge. I think this is the first Star Wars themed drawing on my blog EVER, so sorry for being so neglectful Star Wars fans. I should admit, I tweaked the background colours in photoshop from orange to blue, because it looked better. So if one day you see the original art in person (At ARThive perhaps?) and it's orange instead of blue, you will know why. I'm on holidays from my day job this week and next week too so I'm hoping to draw and paint heaps of new stuff, I've got a couple cool commissions to get on top of, plus heaps of work to do for an exhibition with Sarah Mould which is coming up at Terrarium Gallery in a few months...
Isley
Here is my Poison Ivy painting from my It's Only Madness.. exhibition. I had heaps and heaps of trouble with this one because I'm not very good at painting, but whatever ps - look at those silly fingers!

BANE. As much as i kind of prefer the lucha style Bane mask I kind of went with a Tom Hardy style Dark Knight Rises face mask, because I wanted to show more of his face and i betcha ten bucks this is going to be the most popular style Bane mask in 3 months time anyway. I painted this over the top of a giant big painting of woodland fairies that i found in the council pickup out the front of somebody's house. They had obviously spent a lot of time on it, but rubbish is rubbish. It was the very last one I finished for the exhibition, and the one i was most nervous about, but I think i actually like it the best out of all of them. Also hello to all the Russian spammer bots accessing my site and clogging up my traffic history. bzzzzz bzzzzzz.
I'll be your superhero today
I figure you guys are probably sick to death of looking at poorly painted Batman villains by now, so let's jump across to the Marvel Universe for this recent commission that I drew for a young Spider-Man fan who recently visited the ARThive gallery. That's right, i will draw anything you like for as little as $25! Go to my COMMISSIONS page for a quick and easy paypal form or email me if you want something a bit more complicated. 'Nuff Said!
Napier
I know I know, the Joker's real name remains UNKNOWN, but he's called Jack Napier in Burton's Batman movie, and the animated series too i think, and i think Napier has been referenced as an alias in the comics here and there...uhhhh does anybody really care about this? I had to stick with the naming scheme of the rest of this series. Anyway, it's The Joker! The clown prince of crime! The harlequin of hate!
Pretty happy with this one, but i could probably paint this guy 1000 times over and not get bored with it. I painted this over the top of some dud painting exercise from a 2nd year Uni class, so it's on a well constructed frame and board combo rather than a piece of broken rubbish.
Nigma
This is my painting of Edward Nigma AKA The Riddler from Batman, which is part of my It's Only Madness... Exhibition which is NOW FINISHED. This one suffers from the what should i do with the hands? compositional crisis which i face on a daily basis. Again, Nicholas Pitt took the photo of this, and I shall continue to thank him, because he did me a really big favour. If you're getting married anytime soon, hit him up to take your photos. What a pro.
Are You Kitten Me?
This one has really well and truly snuck up on me, but my darling wife Sarah has been putting together a neato little group exhibition at ARThive which will feature a selection of new feline inspired artworks by a handful of totally cool artists. I've done a quick/dumb Catwoman painting for it but will hopefully get some other drawings done this week too if my broken neck straightens itself out. I slept on the bathroom floor last night, but that's a story for another blogpost perhaps.
The opening party is this Sunday March 11 from 3pm, at ARThive obviously, which is upstairs from One Penny Black at 111 Hunter St Mall Newcastle. You should come! Don't be a chump! My good friend Lizzie Nagy will be playing as Young Lions for the first time in ages i think! And if you dress up you can win some cool stuff from Blackbird Corner!
ps Today is my Mother's birthday. Happy Birthday Mumzy-Wumzy! Thanks for making me.
