He suffered a debilitating stroke on April 18, 1994, and died four days later at the age of 81.
This is a digital work from last year, around about the time my cheap junk lapazz graphics tablet stopped working forever. I thought it wasn't finished and planned on eventually overwoking it heaps more but it so obviously is finished because I haven't touched it in six months.
Available as fine art print on bright white, matte, ultra smooth, 100% cotton rag, acid and lignin free archival paper using an advanced digital dry ink method to ensure vibrant image quality. Custom trimmed with 1" border for framing. Order from Society6.
Back in 2003 I did my first ever real paid freelance illustration work for the GOING OFF AT THE SWAMP music festival which takes place on the NSW Central Coast during Youth Week every year and features lots of young local bands and is a good deal of posi drug and alcohol free fun. Crab Smasher played their first ever show at GOATS. So did Short Stack. Wow. Anyway, back then I drew this goaty kinda character that appeared on posters, tshirts, banners, everything. They've been using the same tired old logo ever since, and i'm pretty much sick of seeing it, so i decided to draw a new one for them. This is it.
I got an iphone recently. I've been wasting a lot of time with it but here's a drawing i just did of The Incredible Hulk with the Autodesk Sketchbook Mobile App. I'm hoping to get a bit better, it's really hard to draw with my fat fingers.
I'm putting some new drawings and a story and maybe some other furry things in this great group show which is coming up at ARThive in Newcastle. You'll have to wait until then to see the work, I haven't really started and can't spoil it yet. But soon! Also in the show are Logan Knight, Rose Turner, Sarah Mould, Jessica Louttit, Sarah Dunn, Ry Wilkin, and Alex Masterson, who are all incredible artists, each and every one of them.
Opening Night is March 18 from 7pm and the exhibition runs until March 26.

This is a drawing of GO GENRE EVERYTHING.Their names are Zach and Jen. They are not particularly famous but they are the closest things to real rock stars in my mind and are one of my favourite bands in the whole world. You can find out more about them at http://www.gogenreeverything.org
Tura Satana died yesterday. Lame.
Here's a drawing of The Man From Another Place (from Twin Peaks) that i rushed together yesterday for this week's Illustration Friday topic "Reverse". I would have liked to have drawn the floor patterns of the Black Lodge a bit better but I'm really bad at any kind of geometrical shapes or anything that requires either a ruler or mathematics or a brain, so i kind of gave up.
