Another writing piece from Primary School, this one about Penguins. I'm not entirely sure how much research went into this, so if you're really interested in good solid facts about penguins, maybe try Wikipedia.

Boss For A Day
Over Christmas I had the opportunity to raid some vintage Grant Hunter artworks from my Mother's secret vault (the box at the bottom of the linen closet). MUST. ARCHIVE. EVERYTHING.
Shark
This took about 3 minutes to draw, and it has mysteriously become incredibly popular on deviantart.com, much more so than anything else i have put on there, with 35 comments and 191 "favourites" so far. I don't get it. Do people really like sharks or something?

I got fat
It really is hard to create the illusion of a glamorous starving artist lifestyle with this big chubby chicken burger and coke belly.
Brain Fart
I don't really know what this is about. Perhaps the naked yellow figure is perplexed by the artist's inability to create the illusion of perspective.

The Phantom is awesome, and is my favourite (super)hero comic book character. He's kind of like Batman only heaps better and purpler and not so gloomy and disinterested in women. He also lives in the skull cave, which is like the bat cave only shaped like a big skull. I doodle him lots. This is one of those occasions. If you'd like to know more interesting facts about The Phantom, buy this drawing off me and I will arrange to meet with you and tell you more.
We're Fine
This is an old sketchbook doodle of my sometimes cranky but always awesome friend Morgan.

Not Fair
An overworked doodle from pocket sketchbook, featuring a bald orange man with green eyes preaching about fairness in an unfair world.

Old Jungle Saying
More old sketchbook pieces from the vault. When I'm not feeling particularly inspired i tend to draw little self portraits in my journals, A: because i'm totally in love with myself, B: because people with lego-man haircuts are pretty easy to draw. This is me pretending to be The Phantom.
Cock Safari
My buddy Michael has a charming music project called Cock Safari. You may have heard him raved about on JJJ and all the hipster music blogs lately. He asked me to decorate a mask for him to wear for a gig, this is what i came up with. Once again, i'm kind of excited about working with 3D wearable surfaces. If i can get my act together I might put together a solo show of this kind of stuff, failing that i may have to start my own fashion label. PS- This is the same mask I used in my video work On Your Feet(Again). I recycled it.

Going through some sketch books and finding some things i like while i'm still motivated and blogging like a maniac. I like this one, it obviously deals with yellow men with sharks on the brain, a theme rarely touched upon in the contemporary artworld.

This is a drawing I was working on for an exhibition at Bleeding Heart Gallery in Brisbane earlier in the year. The exhibition was a fundraiser for 4ZZZ radio and was to include artworks featuring celebrities of the Brisbane music scene. I chose to portray Jamie Hume from The Perfect Lovers. I was walking home from my studio one night and was bashed and mugged by a pair of Newcastle thugs and got so depressed i forgot to post the work and had to pull out of the show. Oh well.

I was just asked to contribute some work to a circus themed art show at Totoro's Teahouse in Newcastle, it was called Totoro Brothers’ Travelling Circus: The Greatest Show on Earth! and it opened on Friday December 4. I'm not sure if this is really what they were looking for, or if it even actually ended up in the exhibition, but here it is anyway.

I might move into wearable art? There is an exhibition called Volleys at the John Paynter Gallery this month, I was asked to customize a pair of Dunlop Volleys. The exhibition was curated by Simone Sheridan and it runs from 4-20 December.
